The polished bone plate from El Juyo's Level 4 - about 17,500 to 16,800 years old - has the sleek fusiform outline expected of a sounding blade, but it preserves the wrong half for certainty. Only the blade end survives; the suspension end is gone. The excavators themselves called the bullroarer reading debatable, even as they set the piece among the rare Cantabrian examples.
