күүгүнэй shares its root with кюкюгюнюр in Dyakonova's Sakha whirrer name-cluster; күүрт is recorded only on this museum card.

A strip of wood scarcely thicker than a few sheets of paper became a Sakha children’s whirrer. The blade is 12.5 centimetres long, 2.2 wide, and only four millimetres thick, with its cotton thread still attached. At Zhilinda it was known as күүрт or күүгүнэй.
