vendola Italian

vendola — Macerata form of the Marche name; at Fabriano svolància (Ginobili, 25 Apr. 1969).

The vendola turned up again almost by accident: Giovanni Ginobili, who had whirled the svendola as a boy in Petriolo, chanced on the same instrument in the mid-1950s in Vallebona, a country district of Macerata — the same thin board, the same single cord, the same flight over the head.

Function
The same one-cord overhead toy as Petriolo's svendola, seen again in a Macerata country district in the mid-1950s.
