Source term: bull-roarer

Sweet water made Tuva: the oasis called Agua Dulce, in the desert northwest of the Salton Sink, where the Wontcaktamyahwic clan of the Desert Cahuilla once lived. There the bullroarer belonged to ceremony alone — whirled to call the people together. Ramon Razon, a man of the clan itself, gave that account of the oasis villages in the mid-1930s.

Function
Ceremonial use only; whirled to assemble the people.
