Cataloguing the site's antler technology, Michelle Langley and Christophe Delage weighed three identities for it: a spatula, unlikely since it lacks the scoop-shaped working end such tools need; a pendant, for which no attachment wear survives; and a bull roarer, favoured for its long curved outline and narrowing profile. The missing end, they note, could once have carried a lashing point that broke away.","pull_quote":"A Bull Roarer, a Spatula, or a Pendant?","pull_quote_translation":"","pull_quote_cite":"Langley and Delage 2018, p. 116","term_gloss":"","cls":"unknown","class_label":"Function not recorded","color":"#6B7884","is_candidate":true,"flags":[],"f_jade_complex":false,"f_women_taboo":false,"f_women_special":false,"f_snake":false,"f_archaeology":true,"archaeology_kind":"object","date_display":"c. 24,000–9000 BC","date_qualification":"Le Placard collection horizon; object unstratified.","date_basis":"broad_context","date_confidence":"low","date_citation":"langley_delage2018_placard, Langley and Delage 2018 pp. 116–117 fig. 7 no. 2; Delage 2018 pp. 106–111 tables 1–2","sources":[{"citation":"Michelle C.
